Monday and Tuesday

In the computer lab each student will create a Power Point vocabulary lesson using words with Greek or Latin roots.

Wednesday and Thursday

The students will present their vocabulary lessons to the class and take notes while others are giving their presentations. There will be a take-home vocabulary quiz on these words today.

Friday

After turning in their vocabulary take-home quiz, the students will cooperatively write dialogue that contains the new vocabulary.

Monday

Discuss the plot in Romeo and Juliet and compare the movement of events to the tipping of dominoes. Which domino was missing in Friar Lawrence's plan? How was a new sequence of events triggered? Discuss who is to blame and go over the essay/wanted poster assignment. View the 1968 movie version of Romeo and Juliet from the middle of Act III to the beginning of Act IV.

Tuesday

Discuss changing mindsets in Romeo and Juliet. What type of love do we see at the beginning of the play? What type of love do we see at the end? View the 1968 movie version from Act IV to the end.

Wednesday

This is a work period for students to write essays and create posters. They are due tomorrow.

Thursday and Friday

Students will present essays and posters to the class.
